Eligibility criteria ( योग्यता ) : A candidate for direct recruitment to the service: (i) must be a Citizen of India; (ii) must hold a degree of Bachelor of Laws (Professional) of any University established by Law in India and recognized as such under the Advocates Act, 1961; (iii) must have been an Advocate for a period of not less than seven years on the last date fixed for submission of online application i.e. 06/03/2017; and (iv) must possess a thorough knowledge of Hindi Written in Devnagri Script and Rajasthani Dialects and Social Customs of Rajasthan.

General instructions ( सामान्य निर्देश ) : (i) The candidates of Special Backward Class (SBC) may apply against posts reserved for Other Backward Class (OBC). (ii) Number of vacancies may vary for which further Notification/Corrigendum may be issued. (iii) Candidates of “Jat” Community belonging to Districts of Dholpur and Bharatpur are advised to apply in General Category in light of Judgement dated 10.08.2015 passed by Hon’ble Rajasthan High Court in Writ Petition Number DBCWP 6046/1999 Ratan Lal Bagri and Ors. Vs. The State of Rajasthan & Ors. (iv) Reservation for woman shall be Horizontal meaning thereby that selected woman will be adjusted in relevant category (SC/ST/OBC/General) to which she belongs. (v) In case of non availability of eligible candidates of SC, ST and OBC category of Rajasthan and Women candidates, the reserved posts shall be filled in as per the procedure prescribed in the ‘Rules’. (vi) In case of married woman, the benefit of reservation of SC/ST/OBC category shall only be applicable to her if she produces the caste/class certificate issued on the basis of Father’s name, residence and income and not on the basis of above particulars of her husband. (vii) Candidates of Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes and Other Backward Classes categories belonging to the States other than Rajasthan shall be treated as candidate of General category. (viii) Candidates of Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC) selected against General category must have all required eligibilities as of candidate of General category.
About Rajasthan High Court
The Rajasthan High Court is the High Court of the state of Rajasthan. It was established on 21 June 1949 under the Rajasthan High Court Ordinance, 1949.
The seat of the court is at Jodhpur. The court has a sanctioned judge strength of 50.

There were five High Courts functioning in the various units of the States – at Jodhpur, Jaipur and Bikaner, the High Courts of former Rajasthan and Matsya Union, before unification of the Rajasthan. The Rajasthan High Court Ordinance, 1949 abolished these different jurisdictions and provided for a single High Court for the entire State. The High Court of Rajasthan was founded in 1949 at Jodhpur, and was inaugurated by the Rajpramukh, Maharaja Sawai Man Singh on 29 August 1949.
The first Chief Justice was Kamala Kant Verma. A bench was formed at Jaipur on 31 January 1977 under sub-section (2) of Section 51 of the States Reorganisation Act, 1956 which was dissolved in 1958. Currently the sanctioned strength of the judges is 50 and actual strength is 34.
