Deputy Librarian

Pay scale ( वेतन ) : Selected candidates will be offered a scale of PB3 15600-39100 GP 6600 (as per sixth pay Commission). The selected candidate will be on probation for one year. After the successful completion of the probation period, if the performance of the candidate is found satisfactory, Institute will confirm the candidate in an offered pay scale.
Desirable qualifications ( वांछनीय योग्यता ) :  First Class (60% or above) in MLISc or equivalent qualification with a first class (60% or above) in BA/BSc./BCom. Degree.  Worked for 10 years or more as Assistant Librarian (or higher designation) in the PB3 with GP of 5400 or higher (as per 6th pay Commission) in an academic library of repute.  Managing Library in a computerized environment with experience in innovative applications of ICT in library operations/services.  Managing e-resources including e-journals, e-books, etc.
Job responsibilities / description ( उत्तरदायित्व) : Assisting the Librarian in overall supervision and management of all the sections / departments of the library.  Management of library staff and monitoring their professional work as allotted by the Librarian.  Assisting the Librarian in budgeting process. Monitoring the library spending, seeking necessary approvals for spending and ensuring financial processes are followed as per Institute’s rules.  Planning and management of Information Technology applications in the library.  Management of library resources (including e-resources) and services with the help of library staff.  Library Maintenance: Looking after all maintenance activities of the library which includes, housekeeping, electrical, computer, stores, etc. and coordinating with the respective departments for the work.  Circulation Department: Guiding the circulation in-charge staff members to carry out their functions smoothly, manually as well as on automated library system.  Arrangement of shift duty of circulation & contract staff: Monthly duty arrangement of circulation staff and contract staff i.e. library trainees & stack assistants. In the absence of any staff, arranging duty of another staff.  Library trainee management / Allotment of work: Allotment of work to library trainees and proper supervision of the work done by them.  Staff Development and Training: In consultation with the Librarian, arranging for training program for library staff.  Coordination and conduct of staff meetings regularly. Guiding relevant sections in the preparation of minutes of meetings and monitoring action items as per the minutes.  Stock verification of library resources.  Assist the Librarian in implementing the Library Committee recommendations: Provide the help in the follow-up work of the last library committee meeting.  Any other work assigned by the Librarian.

Job responsibilities / description ( उत्तरदायित्व) : The Executive Assistant is responsible for handling entire Students’ Exchange Office independently dealing with exchange of both, incoming as well as outgoing students, ensuring continuous development and expansion of the programme by addition of new prominent exchange partners.  Strategic responsibility includes acting as the point of contact for information as well as issues redressal for internal and external consumers, including FRRO, Governmental agencies, etc.  Responsible for processing the incoming enquiries and closing them appropriately.  To work closely with faculty chair(s) in terms of designing the proposals / contents of the new MoUs and closing agreement signing/renewal formalities.  To maintain a live-wire database for cross-section of B-schools across the globe.  Marketing of adhoc programmes like Summer/Winter Schools and enticing partners to contribute actively.  Such other activities as may be delegated by the Institute from time to time.
