Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Syllabus/ Pattern

Assistant Section Officer (ASO) Group B Post is very prestigious job post in Odisha state. This Exam is conducted by Orissa High Court

ASO Exam is conducted in three phases

  1. Preliminary Exam
  2. Mains Exam
  3. CPT & Interview

Prelims Exam:

To select the ASO Officers, the first test is Preliminary exam. This Exam nature is Objective type (MCQ) based. Means there will be gven 4 Answers in your OMR sheet. you just need select 1 correct answer.

Total 150 questions will be asked, In every correct answer you will get 1 mark. Total 150 marks. Total time is 2 hours. There shall be Negative marking, Every 2 wrong answers deduct 1 mark.

For Preliminary Exam You need to cover some subjects.

  1. General English 
  2. Quantitative Aptitude
  3. General Knowledge
  4. Reasoning

Mains Exam:

After clearing preliminary exam, You have to appear in Mains Exam. Mains exam is Subjective type, means you have to write with pen on papers.

General English 100 marks 2 hours
Mathematics 100 marks 2 hours
General Awareness & Reasoning 100 marks 1 hour
General English Essay, Precis writing, Grammar, Translation, Re Translation
Mathematics Arithmatic, Algebra, Mensuration, Statistics & Probability
Awareness & Reasoning Current Affairs, National & International Events, Financial & economic news, Books & Authors, important days, General science, National & International Organization, History, Geography, Politics, Geography, Culture, Important days, Budget

Computer Test:

In Computer Application you will be asked Computer fundamentals, MS Windows, MS Office, Linux fundamental, Communication technology, Internet operation, Networking concepts.

Application Marks Time
Theory 50 30 minutes
Skill Test 50 30 minutes

Viva or Interview:

In viva section you will be asked some questions by Interviewer. It may be basis on Current affairs, history. Totally depends on Interviewer. we cant predict what may he/she ask. You just need to prepare on personal development. For that you can read daily newspaper, books etc.
