Educational requirements ( शैक्षिक आवश्यकता ) : 1st class B.Sc. (Microbiology) with 10 years experience in research or 1st class M.Sc. (Microbiology) with 3 years experience in the field of anaerobic microbiology, microbial taxonomy and biomethanation.
Desirable qualifications ( वांछनीय योग्यता ) : Ph.D. (Microbiology). Experience & publication in the field of obligate anaerobes/methanogens/methane from biomass or industrial waste, and/Next Generation Sequencing.

General instructions ( सामान्य निर्देश ) : (1)Candidates fulfilling above conditions may apply in the prescribed format available on the Institute’s Website (hard copy) http://www.aripune.org., with self-attested copies of qualifications, certificates, Caste Certificate issued by competent authority and Passport size photograph and application fees of Rs.100/- only (wherever applicable), payable by Demand Draft, in favour of ARI, Pune, super scribed on cover APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF TOB-BIOENERGY before 21.04.2017. (2) Separate CV should not be sent along-with application form. (3) The Institute reserves its rights to cancel the recruitment of the post at any stage without assigning any reason. (4) Canvassing in any form and/or bringing in any influence political or otherwise will be treated as a disqualification. (5) Applications received after the last date or received incomplete in any respect are liable to be summarily rejected. Institute shall not be responsible for any delay on the part of postal department for delivery of applications even if posted before the last date. No representation against such rejection will be entertained. (6) The prescribed essential qualifications are bare minimum and mere possession of the same will not entitle the candidate to be called for interview. In case number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, it may not be convenient or possible for the Institute to interview all the candidates. The Institute may restrict the number of candidates to be called for interview to a reasonable limit, on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement or by conducting a written test as may be necessary. (7) In case of non availability of suitable candidate, Institute may consider available candidate/s for offering lower grade post. (8) Interim enquiries will not be entertained. (9) The post is transferable anywhere in India, as per need.

Agharkar Research Institute (ARI) is an autonomous institute of the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. It was established in 1946 as Maharashtra Association for the Cultivation of Science (MACS) and was registered under the Societies Registration Act. 1850. Later, as the research activities started expanding, the MACS Research Institute was given a separate identity. The institute was renamed as ARI in 1992 to honour its founder Director, late Professor S. P. Agharkar.
